3 kinds of video games we would like to see more (and 3 that we want to see disappear)

When it comes to video games, the genres go and come, go up and diminish in popularity, disappear for a while then resurface. Lately, the genre mashup has blurred the discrete lines between the types of game, and although a mechanisms salad is sometimes a revealing treat, it most often creates an unpleasant and confusing disorder. I just played an upcoming adventure game, and the combat mechanism was a mini-game at the Simon to match the musical heights in sequence.
