The next big game of Naughty Dog becomes a standalone multiplayer project, which we do not know too much. Originally intended as an accompanying multiplayer mode of The Last of US 2, Naughty Dog has decided to outsource the whole thing — whether here now Fact age 2 is waiting for us or something else, remains unclear. But what we know now is that Naughty Dog can also be inspired by the conversion, including Epics Battle Royal Phenomenon Fortnite.
Fortnite as a role model for creative game design
In an official blog post, various Naughty Dog employees talked about their games of the year 2021 and praised titles such as Return or Death loop. Game Director Anthony Newman, who is responsible for the addressed multiplayer game, but did not choose a completely new release, but gave the new season of Fortnite, who apparently impressed him very much.
So much even that Newman described the evolution of Fortnite as really inspiring :
When I started working on this multiplayer project, I had a very superficial opinion of Fortnite as something that was just a toy for Teens, a temporary phenomenon that is only successful because of Drake. How wrong I lay it! Fortnite is really inspiring, not just as a multiplayer game but also as a game itself.
Epic goes incredible, creative risks every season, finds new ways to transform the game and never seem to go out the ideas. Personally, I am very impressed by these 'interactive' concert events: an interactive, temporally limited multiplayer concert experience? Much more innovative is not possible.
With the concerts, Newman refers to the Fortnite performances of superstars like Ariana Grande, which functions like a public event. Who is not logged in time, misses the spectacle. The strength of Fortnite to hold successful live events has apparently left great impression at Naughty Dog.
That does not mean that Naughty Dog now sends a Battle Royale game on the way, in which Joel and Ellie appear to play Pearl Jam. But not to be captivated by gameplay conventions and to use public, virtual space in a creative way, Naughty Dogs Multiplayer project could have brought to one or the other idea.
What's about Naughty Dogs Multiplayer game
Hand-proof details of the Naughty Dog multiplayer project are still RAR. Most recently, the studio has occupied multiplayer-relevant positions and every few months there are vague signs of life. In the rumor kitchen, however, it is round, for example, a huge multiplayer map was discovered in the code of the Last of US 2, which is actually reminded of a Battle Royale game together with compass and UI ads.
