The government has designated three core industries, including semiconductors, secondary batteries, and displays, as national advanced strategic industries.
On the 4th, the government held the first national advanced strategic industry committee, presided over by Prime Minister Han Dukes at the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jungle, Seoul.
Three industries, semiconductor, secondary batteries, and displays, have been selected as the national advanced strategic industry. 15 technologies in these fields, including DRAM process line width, NAND flash stacking singles, and lithium-eability energy density, have been selected as national advanced strategic technologies.
The government said it took into account the importance of economic security, the ripple effect of related industries, and the urgency of securing location and manpower in accordance with large-scale investment plans. Although domestic companies have the best technology in the world, they have selected industries that have to be fierce competition and have to protect technology and manpower.
The government has decided to designate a national high-tech strategic industry. It supports location, builds power and water infrastructure, rapid license, and technology, manpower, and finance.
This year, we decided to recruit a specialized complex in the first half of next year by recruiting from corporate, local governments and government departments. It assesses whether it has a national advanced strategic technology, whether the industrial ecosystem is mature, infrastructure and professional manpower.
In order to solve the shortage of master's and doctoral workforce, specialized graduate schools are also designated. The goal is to cultivate professional manpower to be directly in the company.
The government has decided to raise 30,000 semiconductor masters and doctors for the next decade. We decided to raise 5,000 people at specialized graduate school. Earlier next year, three graduate schools of semiconductor specialization will be selected to teach freshmen from the second semester.
Secondary Battery and Display Graduate School of Specialization decided to pilot one or two in 2024. Afterwards, we will investigate the preliminary feasibility and add it.
The government has decided to hold the 2nd National Advanced Strategic Industry Commission early next year to consider the addition of national advanced strategic technologies.
Prime Minister is the chairman of the National Advanced Strategic Industry Commissioner, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Planning and Finance, Education, Science and Technology Information and Communication, Diplomacy, Environment, Land, Transportation, Small and Medium Venture Business Participate as a member. There are eight private members.
