In recent years, there have been cases that the employees of some studies such as Naughty Dog or Rockstar Games have suffered from the infamous Crunch to move forward their games. Rarely talk about the things that are done to avoid the Crunch, but Ted Price, head of insomniac Games, recently revealed a little about this as part of a new interview.

Specifically, Price put as an example to the final battle between Doctor Octopus and Peter Parker in Marvel s Spider-Man. Originally, this fight was going to develop for everything New York, but eventually decided to go down to the intensity to give a much more personal touch and to avoid the Crunch in the studio.
Originally, we were going to have a fight that would go through New York, and it was very disproportionate. We were tempted to simply do it and not worry about the implications. But the team decided to take a few steps back and think about what really mattered for the players, and that was the relationship between Peter and the old mentor of him, Dr. Octavius.
Ultimately, the team opted for a much simpler design, but that gave him that emotional touch to the fight and that he required much less to create.
Sometimes we feel that we should never rest, but sometimes that is just what we need. The team needs permission to take a pause and think about better things, instead of just facing all these problems of face and causing possible risks to your health.
Editor s note: Although I would have liked to have this version of the fight against Dr. Octopus, I think the final result had much more impact and was something more personal. After all, the relationship between the villain and Peter was very important throughout the campaign.
